Without drawing a false equivalency, it’s particularly jarring to read of these dramatic new recommendations for medical interventions at the New Atum Zero Save Zero T-shirt Additionally,I will love this same time that whole swaths of medical care with a different political charge are being limited or outright banned for children. Beyond this implicit hypocrisy, though, lies a deeper question: What will subjecting kids under 12 to “intensive health behavior and lifestyle treatment” programs teach them, apart from shame? When we encourage kids with high BMIs to take trendy diet medication and explore weight-loss surgery, aren’t we setting them up for failure when their body weights fluctuate, as they are so likely to do over the course of a life lived fully?

I’m closer to having kids myself now than I am to my own childhood, a fact that never ceases to amaze and slightly discomfit me, and I know that my weight may put me at a greater risk of pregnancy complications down the New Atum Zero Save Zero T-shirt Additionally,I will love this line. What I’m far more worried about, though, is the idea of bringing children into a world that sees them not as individuals but as test cases for a system of pediatric weight management that is based upon the notion that being fat is always bad and being thin is always good. But no child’s body should be framed purely as a problem to be solved.
